Today’s episode is my discussion with my long-lost cousin, Trenton Campbell. Trenton and I had very similar small town Christian upbringings. We attended the same church and learned the same theology, but until very recently, he and I had basically never really discussed…. well, anything.
When our church disbanded, Trenton and I rarely ever even saw each other for many years and neither of us really knew where the other was in life, thoughts, or beliefs until one day, thanks to maybe God and (the great unifier) alcohol, we changed that pattern.
Trenton is now a self-proclaimed atheist, so of course, we dug into his path and thought processes that brought him to that conclusion from his Christian childhood.
Turns out we’ve got a LOT more in common than we ever knew. We agree on many things and disagree on others, but regardless, this was an extremely fun casual and long overdue conversation. This isn’t my typical interview type of format, it’s more just a laid back chat and a much needed catch-up with a relative I’ve known my whole life and yet, never really knew.
All of that and more on today’s episode of The System is Down, My Path to Atheism with Trenton Campbell.
Question Everything. Stay Uncomfortable.
Let’s get weird!
