Ok, we’re doing it again. I did a pastor grilling convo with Lee Bezotte way back in the day and I initially intended to do them more frequently but hey, there’s just so much going on in the world that we need to be talking about and it’s not always easy to find a willing contender for a series called Pastor Grilling, but fear not, for I have found another willing and worthy “man of the cloth” to grill.
Gabe Casciato was the youth pastor at the church I briefly attended when I lived out in the Des Moines, IA area many years ago. Thanks to the evil Falsebook (it still has a little value), we have kept in touch to minor degrees, but we have not had any at length conversations since. This seemed like a good uncomfortable way to reconnect.
While attending that church and getting to know Gabe a bit, he always seemed to me like a knowledgable and open minded guy, so I thought he’d be the perfect next occupier of the hot seat on Pastor Grilling.
Why is god such an illusive needy creator? Should women be allowed to lead in the church? Is weed really the devil’s lettuce? And what’s the deal with them gays?
